Dr. Wayne Goldstein of Rush North Shore Medical Center did not know the background of the potential patient when she hobbled in to see him only about three months ago.
But, as Dr. Olabisi Caudius-Cole, 48 told the Highland Park orthopedic surgeon her story-how she needed better knees to continue to serve the desperately poor in war-ravaged Sierra Leone-he knew he wanted to help.
